Italian Researchers Found Variations in Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor (AGTR1) Gene to be Associated with Extreme Longevity in Humans.

Online Health Expert's Human Longevity Genetic Research News Flash:  Italian Researchers Found Variations in Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor (AGTR1) Gene to be Associated with Extreme Longevity in Humans.


Researchers Benigni, A et al. from the Department of Molecular Medicine, Mario Negri Institute of Pharmacological Research, Bergamo, Italy found an interesting, significant and strong association between AGTR1 Gene and Extreme Longevity in a large independent cohort of Italian and Japanese Centenarians. 

This gene varient was also associated with lower Blood Pressure among the Centenarians.
